Fondmetal has been a leader in forged and cast wheel design, engineering and manufacturing since the 1970's.
This experience has led Fondmetal to offer alloy wheels for a variety of applications of luxury, performance and exotic cars.
Fondmetal's history began in 1970 in Palosco, Italy as an aluminum foundry by Gabriele Rumi. Gabriele Rumi had a passion for cars and racing and saw a demand for the manufacturing of parts for the automobile industry. In Palosco they made induction manifolds, water conduits, clutch bellhousings, oil sumps, cylinder heads and engine blocks for clients such as Maserati Biturbo, Fiat, Iveco, OM and Magneti Marelli.
Finding himself too reliant on his customers in a sensitive time period following the oil crisis. Gabriele decided on launching his own line of alloy wheels due to his involvement and passion for the automobile industry.
Fondmetal's experience is also tied to Formula 1 racing, where the company sponsored and supplied wheels to numerous constructors from the mid 1980's to the early 2000's, as well as constructing their own Formula 1 cars during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. This experience has led Fondmetal to offer alloy wheels for a variety of applications of luxury, performance and exotic cars.
